
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A deadly shooting took place in the city's Austin neighborhood Friday night.
Police say a 35-year-old food vendor was approached on Central Avenue near Jackson Boulevard by a 30-year-old man around 9 p.m.
Police say there was a struggle and shots were fired. The vendor has a concealed carry license.
The 30-year-old sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The food vendor was shot in the right arm, he was treated by the fire department, and transported to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
Area Four Detectives are investigating. Both firearms were recovered at the scene.
