Man charged for stealing over $400 worth of items from Macy's in Oak Brook

OAK BROOK, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Bond is set for an alleged mall thief already on probation for swiping at the same shopping center.

Myles Dabney, 25 is accused of stealing $456 worth of merchandise from a a Macy's store at the Oakbrook Center Mall in Oak Brook on September 13.

Officers with the Oak Brook Police Department received information regarding an individual, later identified as Dabney, suspected of stealing items from the Macy’s.

Prior to the officers’ arrival, Dabney allegedly entered the store wearing a backpack, selected various clothing items and went into a fitting room, according to the DuPage County State Attorney's office. Several minutes later, Dabney allegedly left the fitting room and exited the store without making any purchases.

Dabney attempted to flee the scene when police arrived, but eventually arrested. He is charged with Retail Theft. His bond was set at $50,000.

Dabney also faced Retail Theft charges for allegedly stealing merchandise from the Oak Brook Neiman Marcus store earlier this year.
