WILL COUNTY (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Will County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Thursday night that left one man dead and another wounded in unincorporated Lockport Township.

The Sheriff’s Office said shots were heard at about 7 p.m. on the 200 block of Riverview Avenue, along the Des Plaines River.

Two men were on the ground near the front door of a residence. Both were shot.

A 52-year-old man died at a hospital. A 55-year-old man remains in critical condition.

“It was reported to detectives that the two men had just arrived at the residence from returning from a local grocery store. As they approached the front of the residence, shots were fired from an unknown person. It appears that this was an isolated incident, and the attack was targeted,” the Sheriff’s Office said in statement.
