OAK FOREST (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Four people were shot, one fatally, in southwest suburban Oak Forest Sunday in what’s believed to be a domestic incident.
Police responded to gunshots at about 5:10 p.m. to a cul-de-sac off Central Avenue.
There, they found three people wounded. Two were initially listed in critical condition. But, one of those victims, 39-year-old Mohannad Othman, later died, according to the Cook County Medical's Examiner's Office. The person shot has since been released from the hospital.
The department said they found a fourth person shot in a car they learned had been involved in the shooting. That person had non-life-threatening wounds.
Officers detained another person from that vehicle. Relatives told CBS-2 one of the victims is a 12-year-old girl who was shot answering the door while their neighbors were fighting.
