CICERO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A shooting and crash in Cicero in the middle of the day Sunday has left one person dead and six others injured.
When officers arrived at Roosevelt and Cicero Avenue, at about 12:30 p.m., they found a crash at the intersection and another just up the street.
Louie Rainone owns a jewelry store nearby and told CBS News Chicago he heard the crash and bursts of gunfire.
“Right before I came out, there was a bunch of shots and then more shots after that. One guy’s laying on the street, it was a war zone,” Rainone said.
He said one car was chasing the other, and someone was firing shots from that pursuing vehicle. Police said four people were wounded, including a man who died and three who went to the hospital, one in critical condition, two others in fair condition.
Three other people were injured in the crash.
WBBM has reached out to Cicero Police for more details.
