CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 50-year-old Crystal Lake man with a history of breaking into homes and stealing women’s underwear has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

David Khollman has already served two prison sentences for breaking into a half dozen women’s homes and stealing underwear starting in the mid-90s, once fondling a woman who was sleeping.

Now, he’s been sentenced to 12 years after being caught on surveillance video, wearing a dress and a wig, entering a woman’s home through a window and stealing underwear.

She said he’d been doing it for months, which is why she installed the camera.

And the Northwest Herald reported she said it changed her life.

“These events have changed my life...I live in constant fear that someone is always watching me,” the woman wrote in a letter. She said Khollman has been “terrorizing our community for 25 years."

Khollman said at his sentencing, “I’m very sorry for what happened. I overdosed on drugs...I feel very bad about what happened.”

According to the Northwest Herald, the judge noted in court that the Khollman’s actions were the result of an addiction to or abuse of drugs or alcohol, and recommended that he receive treatment in prison.
