CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred overnight inside a restaurant in the uptown neighborhood.
Police said a 30-year-old man was sitting at a table eating in a restaurant near Montrose and Clark. It was just after midnight. A man with a gun approached and demanded his belongings, and the patron complied.
According to the police report, the robber walked to the cash register, and employees got out of the way.
The man tried unsuccessfully to get the register open. He then ran away.
