Man shot and killed, another critically wounded outside hot dog stand near UIC campus: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Tuesday night outside a popular hot dog stand on the Near West Side.

A man is dead and another is in critical condition after the shooting. Police said it happened outside Jim's Original hot dog stand near the UIC campus.

Police said people inside a dark-colored SUV and a red sedan got out of the vehicles and started shooting at each other on the street.

A man was hit in the face and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A 19-year old-man was shot in the chest. He is listed in critical condition.

No one is in custody.
