Man shot near busy Lincoln Park intersection

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A late afternoon shooting in Lincoln Park has left one man seriously wounded.

According to Chicago Police, the incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. near a sidewalk on Clark and Fullerton. A 34-year-old man confronted a group and an argument transpired.

An unknown suspect took out a gun and subsequently shot at the 34-year-old, police said. The suspect fled the scene, while the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, initially listed in critical condition.

No one is in custody. Area Three detectives are investigating.
