
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago Police are investigating a shooting at Montrose Beach Sunday night that injured a man.
Police said shortly before 8:30 p.m. a 38-year-old man was standing in the beach parking lot when someone started firing shots in his direction from a silver sedan.
While trying to drive away, the suspect crashed into another vehicle, and officers placed the driver into custody. The shooter fled the crash.
Police said the victim was shot three times and taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The shooting comes days before all Chicago beaches are set to open for the summer.
