(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A DeKalb man who posted child pornography to “dark web” Internet sites has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison.

Jacob Mathley, 45, allegedly had more than 10,000 illegal videos and photos on his laptop and pleaded guilty earlier this year to child-pornography charges, federal prosecutors said in a news release.

With the online username “Slamdime,” Mathley posted images to dark web sites for the purposes of trading child pornography with others, the government said.

U.S. District Judge Jorge L. Alonso handed down the sentence earlier this month.

Prosecutors had argued Mathley poses a danger on the Internet and in his community.
