
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A shooting early this morning in Avalon Park on Chicago’s South Side has left two people dead.
Police said a man and a woman were sitting in a parked car near 83rd and Dorchester at around 12:40 a.m. when two people shot them and then ran off.
The 19-year-old man was hit in the chest multiple times while the 25-year-old woman was shot once in the torso. Both were pronounced dead at the hospital.
The shooting occurred in the 4th District. Chicago Police Department statistics show through last week there had been 162 shootings so far this year, a 3% increase over last year.
