CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man is recovering after being shot during an attempted robbery along the Lakefront Sunday night.
Chicago Police said a man was standing in Lincoln Park near Diversey Harbor when a man or young man walked up to him at about 7:40 p.m. and said he was robbing him.
The 49-year-old victim grabbed the gun, which went off and wounded him in the torso. Police said a friend took the man to St. Joseph Hospital nearby, and he was then transferred to Illinois Masonic in fair condition.
Chicago police are investigating and do not have anyone in custody.
