One of the most famous American luxury automobile models is “going green.”

General Motors unveiled a new all-electric version of its iconic Cadillac Escalade, which they will begin to roll out next year.

The Escalade IQ will make its debut as part of GM’s 2025 product line, and the price tag is hefty. It’s expected to hit retail with a starting price of $130,000, making it Cadillac’s most expensive vehicle even before other options and add-ons are taken into account.

For comparison, gas-powered Escalade models currently start at $81,000.

The IQ’s reveal is another step in GM’s vow to sell only zero-emission passenger vehicles by 2035, and the automotive giant says this new EV model of the Escalade is powerful, sporting about 10% more horsepower – 750 – than the company’s most powerful existing gas-powered version.

In a news release, GM also stated that the Escalade IQ can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than five seconds and can travel up to 450 miles on a single battery charge.

The IQ is expected to make its way to Cadillac dealership showrooms late next year.
