The watch is over. Facebook Watch, that is.
Meta announced that it will sunset the service and cancel all original programming on the platform.
Among the casualties, Steve Harvey’s “Steve on Watch,” Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk,” Cardi B’s “Cardi Tries,” Taraji P. Henson’s “Peace of Mind with Taraji,” and “Big Chicken Shaq.”
With the end of the platform, Meta will eliminate 10,000 jobs.
One of those employment casualties will be Mina Lefevre, Facebook Watch’s head of development and programming. Lefevre joined the company in 2017, having previously served as the head of scripted entertainment at MTV.
Meta laid off 11,000 workers last year.
