(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There’s a sign more people are starting to return to work at their offices. Metra is offering more service on a couple of its lines starting today.
The weekday train schedule on Metra’s Union Pacific-Northwest Line is increasing by 21 trains starting today, from 45 trains per week, to 66.
The new schedule also takes into account reverse commuters, those who travel from the city to the suburbs for jobs. The UP-Northwest Line will now have six trains that leave Chicago before 9 a.m., including a train that departs at 5:05 a.m.
There’s also an early morning train arriving downtown at 5:32 a.m.
On the UP-North Line, one more train is being added to and from Kenosha each weekday.
