There's a happy ending to the search for a northwest Indiana woman who'd been the subject of a missing-persons search for nearly a week.
Sheriff's deputies in Newton County say an excavation crew working Tuesday along County Road 600S near CR300E found a car off the road, in a culvert and hidden from other drivers. Inside the car, they found 41-year-old Brieonna Cassell of Wheatfield, who'd been missing since March 5 when she left her home to visit loved ones.
Authorities say Cassell had been in the car for six days, but was alive, conscious and responding. She was airlifted to a Chicago hospital for treatment.
