(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A motorist was killed Saturday when his vehicle drifted into a lane of oncoming traffic and collided with a semi-truck in unincorporated Lake Bluff, authorities said.
The 36-year-old Wadsworth man was driving a southbound Toyota Tacoma on Route 43 near Muir Avenue when the vehicle crossed into northbound traffic around 9:30 a.m., the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The vehicle struck a northbound Mack semi-truck hauling a loaded trailer, officials said.
The Toyota driver was pronounced dead at the scene; he was not identified in the news release. The 21-year-old semi-truck driver was uninjured, authorities said.
An investigation continues.
