(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The NASCAR Chicago Street Race is set to return in 2025 for its third year.

After two heavily limited races due to rain, the NASCAR Chicago Street Race is back on the calendar.

The 2025 race will take place July 5 – 6 and will feature the same 12-turn, 2.2-mile street course seen in 2024.

According to NASCAR, last year’s Chicago Street Race drove tourists from 24 countries to Chicago, and a study from Temple University found that the 2023 event generated $8.3 million in local and state taxes.

In a statement, the city of Chicago credited NASCAR for “sponsoring youth at the Chicago Park District Summer Day Camp program, co-developing STEM curriculum and hosting ‘STEAM Fest’ with Chicago Public Schools, and developing initiatives across a range of local community-based organizations.”
