Chicago's West Side is welcoming a new site to help those struggling with addiction and mental health.

Several elected officials, doctors, and members the community gathered on the 3900 block of West Roosevelt Road on Tuesday afternoon to "cut the ribbon" at the Divine Recovery Hope Clinic.

It's a new wraparound treatment and harm reduction facility focusing on addiction, including opioids, and mental health.

State Representative Yolanda Morris said, "we are not just opening doors, we are opening pathways to purpose, freedom, and a new future."

Dr. Titi Oladipupo runs the clinic and told WBBM during a brief tour that, "we knew we had to come here to give back to the community and help our people. This morning when we got here there was an ambulance next door, somebody already overdosed."

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office says people dying from opioid overdoses in Cook County continue to be

overwhelmingly male, with men accounting for 76 percent of overdose death cases in 2024.

African Americans make up the majority of overdose deaths at 53 percent, with whites and Latinos making up 31 and 14 percent of deaths, respectively.
