(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago magician has a new home in the Theater District.

Dennis Watkins spent more than 10 years performing his show inside the Palmer House. Now, he's moved into The Magic Parlour, 50 W. Randolph St., a collaboration with the Goodman Theatre and Petterino's restaurant. It’s billed as the city’s first venue for “up-close” magic.

“It’s a lovely, intimate space where the furthest audience member is 18 feet from center stage,” Watkins said. “It’s perfect for the type of magic you want to be right on top of.”

He will perform Thursday through Sunday, with two shows on Fridays and Saturdays. The new venue seats 64 and offers a VIP experience in the Encore Room next door.
