CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- With the Chicago Bears still making moves toward relocating to Arlington Heights, Mayor Lightfoot is asking a panel to consider the future of Soldier Field and the Museum Campus with or without the team.

The timing here is key. The Chicago Bears are negotiating a possible re-location of the team from Soldier Field to Arlington Heights. And the Lakeside Center at McCormick Place is among sites being considered for a Chicago casino.

Mayor Lightfoot has announced the formation of a 23-member working group to recommend strategies to enhance and reimagine what she calls "the visitor experience" at those venues, as well as the Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium and the rest of the Museum Campus.

Richard Price, the CEO of Mesirow, will chair the group. In a news release, the Mayor said she wants to maximize the benefits of the assets there and address the larger issues of the Museum Campus.

The near futures of two of those assets - Soldier Field and the Lakeside Center - will loom large.
