ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Rolling Meadows has its first-ever female mayor.
Lara Sanoica was sworn-in Tuesday night as Rolling Meadows' first female mayor. She’s also among the youngest suburban leaders in the area at 32 years old. Sanoica was a Rolling Meadows city council member for four years before being voted in as mayor.
She was sworn in by outgoing mayor Joe Gallo. According to the Daily Herald, after taking office, Sanoica said that Rolling Meadows has always been on the forefront of all sorts of trends and will continue to do so.
"I can really connect with my residents. This isn't something that's a distant memory for me. I understand the struggles of the median population here, but also understand that business savvy because my day job is with a financial institution."
