(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — An after-hours lounge in St. Charles that was the scene of a fatal shooting last Sunday has been shut down.
City leaders confirm that the owners of Trilogy Lounge surrendered their liquor license before it could be revoked.
Some business owners operating near the lounge on Lincoln Highway felt the business was a nuisance and not a good fit for the area.
An attorney for the club's owners tells The Daily Herald they're upset about the shooting but feel it could have been avoided if the landlord would have allowed armed security at the door.
Michael D.V. Carwell, 22, faces counts of murder, attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm in the attack that killed one and injured three others outside the nightclub.
