CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A north suburban woman continued to bask in the glow of her star turn on “Wheel of Fortune.”

Bonnie Romniak of Northbrook watched the show for decades and now she's a behind the scenes expert.

Romniak faced off against two other contestants from the area in a show that was taped in California in September but aired on Oct. 19.

Romniak told WBBM Newsradio her son is developmentally-disabled and lives on the Misericordia campus in Chicago.

She said Misericordia held a watch party when the show aired.

"In his building there are about 60 residents.  It's an apartment building on campus.  We had brought chips and snacks of different kinds and sparkling waters and soda to drink so they could have their own ‘Wheel' party,” she said.

Romniak won $9,800 on the show and donated the winnings to Misericordia.
