OAK LAWN (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A southwest suburban college has abruptly closed its doors for good.
Classes aren’t in session as Northwestern College has announced it has shut down operations. The Oak Lawn school’s administration made the decision Saturday, saying it was due to financial reasons.
“Northwestern College has supplied highly skilled professionals to the Chicago area for over 122 years, and while we are saddened by the need to end our educational mission, we will maintain our legacy in the thousands of graduates that have been part of our history,” the college said in a statement.
Current Northwestern College students looking to transfer can find resources on the Illinois Board of Higher Education’s website.
