(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Northwestern University will pay more than $43 million to settle a lawsuit claiming the university participated in a price-fixing scheme.
Dartmouth, Rice and Vanderbuit joined Northwestern on Friday in agreeing to settle the class-action lawsuit. It was brought by students who said the elite schools colluded on how much financial aid to give by looking at students’ ability to pay when deciding who to offer admission to.
The Chicago Tribune reports the settlement does not come with any admission of wrongdoing from Northwestern.
A spokesman tells the paper the school believes it did nothing wrong and the claims in the suit are baseless.
The University of Chicago agreed back in August to settle and pay more than $13 million.
