(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Since 1942, Top Notch Beefburgers has been serving up good food and great memories.
In her 29 years at Top Notch, General Manager Kim Tobin has seen generations of loyal customers.
"The kids grow up here with their families," she explains. "They get married, and then they come back here and then they have kids."
In its more than 80 years in business, Top Notch set up shop at a few addresses but in 1984 found its permanent home at 2116 W 95th Street in Beverly. For more than three decades, Chef Sam Gomez has been cooking up the deliciousness.
He credits the freshness of the product with the diner's success. Tobin said the burgers are literally made from scratch.
"We get the actual bone with the meat on there, and we cut it, process it," she said. "It's not like processed food that's coming in."
Longtime customers Donna Hickey and Xavier Lara say you can taste the difference in every bite.
"This is like the best of the best," Lara said.
