One dead, 3 wounded after shots fired from one car to another in Ashburn

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Shots fired from one car to another in the Ashburn neighborhood Monday afternoon left one person killed and three wounded.

The four were in a vehicle driving east on 79th Street at about 2:30 p.m. when shots were fired from a car driving in the opposite direction.

The car that was targeted crashed into a semi at Columbus Avenue. A 20-year-old man was shot in the head and was dead at the scene.

A 16-year-old boy was hit in the arm and was taken in good condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Two other men, 19 and 21, had leg wounds.

One was taken to Holy Cross and the second to Christ. Both were in good condition. Police said they found four weapons in their car.

The other car sped away. Police said no one is in custody at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
