CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- One man is dead and three other people are wounded after a shooting outside a club in River North early this morning.

Chicago police said it started outside a club near Chicago and Orleans at around 2:10 a.m. after security threw out a group of people. Deputy police chief Sean Loughran was at the scene.

"Shots were fired by one or two of the individuals that were in that group at an individual, who was fatally struck," he said. "During that gunfire, an armed security guard of that licensed establishment returned fire. Ultimately, the security guard was struck."

Loughran said two 24 year-olds were also shot. The man and woman were wounded in the leg. They and the 30-year-old security guard were hospitalized in good condition.

Police arrested one person and recovered two guns at the scene. They’re asking anyone with video of the shooting to share it with detectives.
