(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Orland Park Police Department dedicated their headquarters Monday to former police chief Tim McCarthy.

McCarthy spent 26 years leading the southwest suburban police force and was also known as the Secret Service agent who saved the life of then-President Ronald Reagan during a 1981 assassination attempt.

The former chief says his name may now be on the building, but all credit should go to the members of the police department.
