(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A local Palestinian group says they were locked out of a reported meeting Thursday with members of the Biden Administration to discuss the Israel-Hamas war -- and they’re glad they were.
Hatem Abudayyeh, National Chair of the U.S. Palestinian Community Network, was not mincing words about the local meeting with White House officials.
“If there are any organizations or individuals out there that do meet with the White House, then those people are absolute sellouts. They are truly not representative of their communities and they will be deservedly ostracized from our community forever,” he said.
Abudayyeh said leaders in Washington have ignored their demands to stop sending money and weapons to Israel and the time for talking is over.
“The Biden Administration, the Democratic party as a whole, has blood on its hands. They are complicit in the Israeli genocide, which has killed 31,000 Palestinians in Gaza already.”
Rather than talk, Abudayyeh says his group will continue to organize. This weekend, it plans to hold their 28th demonstration since the Oct. 7 Hamas incursion into Israel that started the war.
“There’s anger out there, obviously. It’s happening across the country.”
Israel’s invasion of Gaza has killed more than 31,000, according to Gaza health officials, left much of the enclave in ruins and displaced some 80% of Gaza’s 2.3 million people.
