CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Charges are pending for two protestors who were arrested Sunday afternoon at NASCAR's Chicago Street Race while calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Police said around 4:15 p.m., two men were taken into custody for criminal trespass after they locked themselves to a course fence for 40 minutes.

In a statement, organizers of the protest said it was done to condemn "local, state and federal governments ongoing genocide and mass imprisonment agenda."

Protestors said they also condemn Israeli NASCAR driver Alon Day, who is Jewish and has publicly shown his support for Israel in its war against Hamas.
