PARK FOREST (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Cook County judge has ordered a south suburban man held behind bars to await trial in the killing of two women last week.
Prosecutors accuse 50-year-old Coleman Franklin with killing the two women he lived with in Park Forest, his 51-year old girlfriend Lillian Brown and her 30-year old daughter, Sabrina McCain.
McCain’s children who were in the home on Miami Street at the time of the shootings last Thursday were not injured.
Prosecutors said McCain’s 9-year old son had heard the gunshots and told a 911 operator he saw Franklin holding a gun and standing over his mother.
Prosecutors said Franklin told police he did not kill the two women and had not been in contact with Brown for several months.
Another daughter of Brown had started a GoFundMe to pay for a double funeral, but she has stopped accepting donations after receiving nearly $5,000.
