CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The driver of a party bus accused of sideswiping a dozen cars near the busy Market Days festival this weekend now faces charges.
Gregory Baldwin has been charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and criminal damage to government property. In a bizarre scene that was captured on cell phone video, the 45-year-old Valparaiso man allegedly hit several cars while driving southbound on Broadway near Addison, leaving behind broken windows, smashed bumpers and scratches. It happened Saturday at around 3 p.m. while the Market Days festival was going on nearby.
Black Label Limos released a statement saying they’re incredibly thankful no one was injured and that Valparaiso company learned about the accident from the media – not Chicago police. After numerous phone calls, the owners said police told them the driver was not impaired, but did not say if they have determined that.
