Passenger shot on Bishop Ford: ISP

DOLTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A car passenger was shot while traveling on the Bishop Ford Freeway late Tuesday night.

The Illinois State Police said shortly after 10 p.m. gunshots were fired at a vehicle driving in the southbound lanes near 137th Street.

A 20-year-old passenger was hit and transported to Trinity Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, the Chicago Fire Department said. The driver was not hurt.

State police’s investigation resulted in a several hours-long shutdown, with traffic being diverted at 130th Street.

Lanes reopened overnight.

The ISP is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 847-294-4400.
