Pedestrian killed in West Side hit-and-run, police say

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian crossing a West Side street Wednesday night.

The accident occurred in the North Lawndale neighborhood, at the intersection of 13th Street and Central Park Avenue, at around 7:45 p.m., according to Chicago Police.

A 44-year-year-old man was walking across the intersection when he was hit by a SUV traveling south on Central Park.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital but later died.
No one is in custody.

Police’s Major Accident Investigation Unit is handling the case.
