(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A person is still missing after a large fire broke out at a home in Hawthorn Woods Saturday afternoon.
The Lake Zurich Fire Department arrived just after 3 p.m. to a home engulfed in flames at 43 Rosewood Drive in the village of Hawthorn Woods.
Fire Chief David Pilgard says several dozen trucks were needed at the scene.
“This area does not have municipal water or fire hydrants. We eventually had to go to a third alarm fire for additional resources to assist us. It involves setting up an elaborate water supply.
He says crews are still at the scene.
“We have a person unaccounted for that we are trying to find.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
