(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Owners of the world’s largest dispensary officially set up shop in Illinois on Monday when the Las Vegas-based Planet 13 held a grand opening for its new dispensary in Waukegan.
The 4,000-square-foot space is located at 4000 Northpoint Blvd. near Route 120.
To celebrate the special occasion, the retailer is offering prizes, exclusive offers and hosted Waukegan Mayor Ann Taylor.
"The addition of our new Illinois dispensary will be a key driver of revenue growth throughout 2024 as we ramp up sales,” said Bob Groesbeck, co-CEO of Planet 13. “We have high expectations for this dispensary given the great potential of the Illinois market and our strategic placement in a shopping and entertainment district in the Chicagoland metro area."
Planet 13 is known for being a high-tech cannabis retailer that offers a unique, interactive experience.
The store will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
