Police: Man who died in Cicero house explosion set off blast

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The man found dead in a house explosion in Cicero has been identified.

Police say the human remains discovered in the debris of a house explosion on February 15 in Cicero have been identified as 31-year-old Anthony Avila-Puebla.

Detectives say he had a relationship with a family member living at the home while that person was at a wedding.

A Villa Puebla was seen on video carrying jugs of flammable liquid from his car into the two-story residence near Central and Surmak.

Police say he set the fire but never came out. He was not seen exiting the building before the explosion.

His motivation remains unknown.
