(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago police officer is recovering from injuries after being struck by a vehicle on the Southwest side, officials said.
The officer was responding to a domestic disturbance between two people inside a vehicle on 59th Street near Kilbourn around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
The officer got out of their vehicle to investigate and was struck by the automobile the people were in.
The officer suffered swelling to their arm and leg and was taken to a hospital in good condition for treatment, officials said.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the officer was in custody.
