CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Two people were killed and another was injured in a shooting Thursday morning at the Kankakee County Courthouse, according to the mayor’s office.
At least two people were arrested after the attack at the south side entrance of the courthouse near the detention center, according to David Guzman, executive assistant to the mayor.
He said more information would be released at a news conference between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. at 200 S. Schuyler Ave. in Kankakee.
Buildings near the shooting were on lockdown as a precaution, the city said, but later reported that the area was secure.
