KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Authorities in Kenosha County, Wisconsin say they used the vehicle security system OnStar Saturday to help catch a carjacker who had escaped police in Park Ridge.
Wesley Anderson, 42, was wanted on two outstanding warrants by Lake County.
Two Park Ridge police officers were trying to take him to Lake County when he broke free, despite his handcuffs. And despite being tased, authorities said he carjacked one vehicle nearby. He then proceeded to carjack another.
That's where Kenosha County sheriff's deputies got involved - using OnStar to slow down, then stop the carjacked car.
Anderson is heard on the body cam video pleading with officers to not hit him.
At the hospital where Anderson was checked out, he apparently indicated to deputies he needed to use the restroom.
"They have to bring in the bedpan for you to use. No, that's a garbage can," said one of the deputies. "You're not using a garbage can."
Anderson got into a scuffle with the deputies as he reached for the garbage can. He was taken to the Kenosha County Jail.
