A new survey has found that with less than a week to go until Election Day, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris appear to be split by gender.
The survey from CBS News/YouGov found that Harris is currently earning 55% of her support from women, while Trump is earning 54% of his support from men.
The poll found that men who feel gender equality efforts go too far tend to be more likely to support Trump, while women who say they aren’t going far enough support Harris overwhelmingly.
Among women, 51% think Harris has the mental and cognitive health to be the president, while among men, 41% think she does. For Trump, those numbers fall even further, with only 30% of women and 36% of men saying Trump has the mental and cognitive health to be the president.
Results from the survey also found that while 55% of women think Harris will be a strong leader, only 44% of men do. Meanwhile, for Trump, 64% of men say he would be a strong leader.
The poll comes with just days until the majority of Americans will head to the polls and cast their ballots in the election.
As things sit, the race between Harris and Trump remains razor thin, as The Hill’s Decision Desk HQ shows Harris only has a 0.7% lead over Trump.
The CBS News poll echoed these findings, with 50% of voters choosing Harris in its poll, and 49% choosing Trump. In battleground states, the pair remains deadlocked at 50% each.
The CBS News/YouGov survey included responses from 2,161 registered voters and was conducted from Oct. 23-25. There is a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points.
