(WBBM NEWSRADIO) —There may be a break in a missing persons case from nearly 40 years ago in suburban Northbrook.
Members of the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force have been observed at a property near Orchard and Maple. Neighbors say investigators have been carrying out large bags and put up a tent that has obscured their work, in the yard near a shed.
Authorities are apparently following a lead in the 1982 disappearance of Linda Seymour, who was 35 at the time. CBS Chicago reported Seymour once lived at the property.
There is no danger to the general public, said police, who planned to return to the site on Wednesday.
