MOUNT PROSPECT (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There’s been a foul smell in Mount Prospect, and the source of it may soon be leaving town.

Prestige Feed Products makes food for pets and  livestock such as pigs and cows. People living nearby have complained about odors they say have been coming from the plant. There have been protests and even a legal battle.

Now, attorneys for Prestige say the company plans to move within the next six months, still, there’s been no official word.

If the matter is not resolved by relocation, a jury trial for the village's suit against the company would begin in September of next year.

Reports from residents in both Mount Prospect and Des Plaines say the smell from the factory is like that of "burnt cheese."
