(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The shooting death of a 9-year-old boy on the South Side on New Years Day remains under investigation -- with a lot of unanswered questions.
WBBM Newsradio spoke with activist and crisis responder Andrew Holmes after he accompanied the mother of the boy, Jarvis Watts, to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The boy was hit multiple times, in the nose, neck and left hand.
An adult male whom somebody in the house knows, according to Holmes, left with the gun before police arrived. The shooting occurred in the 9400 block of South Wallace.
The boy’s death has been ruled a homicide. Holmes doesn’t believe he shot himself.
An investigation continues.
