(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- For generations, Radio Flyer wagons have meant fun and adventure. Now the Chicago-based company wants to capture that in animation.
Robert Pasin is Radio Flyer's Chief Wagon Officer and the grandson of the company's founder Antonio Pasin. He said moving the beloved red wagon into the world of animation is a natural step in its evolution.
47 stories have always been such a huge part of Radio Flyer and what it means to people.
"There are always these wonderful stories about childhood, and how they use their wagon as a race car, or a spaceship or time machine."
Pasin said Radio Flyer Studios will tap into those emotions and stories to create family-oriented short animations for their Youtube channel.
Deborah Frank will serve as Executive Producer and manage all stages of development and production. Frank has worked on several PBS KIDS programs including "Work it Out Wombats!" and "Arthur" at GBH Kids in Boston, as well as a variety of multiplatform and digital-first series.
Most recently, she was the Supervising Producer on City Island for Future Brain Media.
The show's title, characters and release date are all still being worked out, but Pasin proudly adds:
"Sky's the limit. It can really be anything we imagine it to be-- just like radio flyer!"
