Ravinia will be back open this summer - after being dark all last summer. And as you’d expect, things will look different.
WBBM’s Steve Miller reports.
Ravinia is set to reopen the beginning of July - at a reduced capacity.
And no general admission. Jeff Haydon, the CEO and President of Ravinia Festival, says everything will be pre-reserved - in the pavilion and on the lawn.
“We’re actually going to go out and we’re going to draw hundreds of squares on the lawn. And you can buy a square of two, four or six people and enjoy a pre-reserved square.
“So you don’t have to get here hours early and homestead your spot.”
Haydon says they’ve actually found a robot that paints lines for the NFL - sort of a Roomba filled with paint.
He says the season schedule will come out at the end of April. And tickets will go on sale in May and June for the first half of the season, and then tickets for the second half will open up later on - hoping that capacity will be able to increase.
