(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Skokie’s Plan Board has unanimously approved a redevelopment plan for Westfield Old Orchard.
Developers released updated renderings of plans for the shopping center which includes 400 luxury apartments and 15,000 square feet of street-level retail space.
With new residences, eateries, wellness facilities, and outdoor amenities, officials say the mall will be a North Shore destination unlike anything else in Chicagoland.
Renderings also showed the complex will include a park and event space which will bring local events, concerts, farmers markets and festivals.
Construction is expected to begin in 2025 and be completed early 2027.
